I’m a guy from Montreal, Quebec, and I’m using art to try to make sense of the world.
I grew up in the countryside of Quebec, and I would spend half of my time playing in the forest with my 5 siblings and the other half watching animated movies.
Drawing was my way of bringing my two favorite things together. I had the most fun when drawing the stories we were making up in the forest in the style I saw in the movies.
Fast forward, and for the last decade, I’ve been working in the animation industry, and I’m now in the process of creating a feature film of my own.

After working 10+ years on other people’s projects, I realized that I, too, have a voice and the professional capacity of sharing it.
The projects I helped bring into the world over the years taught me a lot. The main thing is that a movie crafted with care and authenticity can have a big impact on an audience.
I also LOVE working with a team of passionate people, and I’m always in awe of the wonders that can appear from healthy collaboration.
So naturally, when the time came to decide how I wanted to tell Tulip’s story, making a movie was the easy answer.

The story takes place on Earth in 2075. We follow a young adult (Jim) who’s anxious about the state of the world and scared of humanity’s gloomy near future. His encounter with a tiny, talking flower (Tulip) sets him off on an adventure that’ll lead him to re-engage with nature and his own nature, ultimately realizing that humanity is as beautiful as a tulip.

Because I personally feel anxious about the state of the world.
It’s a daily, deep existential stress that’s always there. Our generation has to constantly deal with unprecedented threats to humanity, whether it’s global wars, the rise of artificial intelligence, epidemics, or the scariest of all, the environmental crisis.
Our dependence on technology to temporarily relieve us of this daily stress has gradually eroded our capacity to connect with one another and with ourselves. Resulting in further distress and fear.
While remaining highly entertaining and funny, Tulip’s story directly addresses these issues and offers a hopeful way to connect with ourselves and the living world around us.
I believe there is room between superheroes and alien stories for one that inspires us to be better, simple humans.
